Rocky was crying after 8 seconds of not finding me when I started the training in December. Three months later and he doesn't mind my 3 hr absence. I even started dating again (without a four-legged bodyguard 😂)!

“Being a first-time dog owner is mostly terrifying, and only sometimes fun (I expected otherwise). I love how easily the program is written, and I don’t need to read hundreds of pages or do the guesswork. Now I’m more confident than ever, and my pooch is as well!”

JEFFREY K., TX

“After finding out the prices of dog trainers I was really afraid that I won’t solve my dog’s separation anxiety, and was about to give him away. Luckily, the trainer I was contacting recommended this training program as an affordable solution. Now I can’t believe I almost gave away my best-friend! This program was more than enough to figure it out on my own. And their email support is amazingly fast!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this training program right for me?

This self-training program was created specifically for you if you want to:

Train your puppy to stay happy-home-alone from a young age and prevent separation anxiety in the first place.

Train your grown-up dog to stay calm at home alone after working-from-home and being in lockdown for such a long time.

Save money by training a dog yourself, instead of hiring an expensive trainer.

Save time by having a clear day-by-day action plan created by professional trainers instead of browsing the internet for random sources of information.

For dogs with severe symptoms of separation anxiety (eating disorders, tearing their nails and skin by trying to get out through the doors or windows) we would suggest consulting a dog behaviorist or a vet to ensure a personalized treatment and extra precautions.

What result I should expect?

Every case is different though you should expect to:

 - Turn a clingy buddy to an independent best-friend. Separation anxiety is solved by building mutual trust. You’ll know your dog’s anxiety limits, and the dog will know that you’ll come back before the anxiety kicks in.

 - Recognize and desensitize triggers of your dog’s separation anxiety. Whether it’s departure routines of you putting on make-up, grabbing the keys, getting in shoes, putting on a coat or any other.

 - Gradually increase the period of time your dog can stay home-alone without getting anxious. We’ve had clients starting from a trust-period of 15 seconds, and improving to 3,5 hours after completing the 3-month self-training program. Though every dog is different, so prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Imagine, what would you do if having a dog-free card for a few hours daily?

 - See how your dog treats a crate to be his/her sanctuary of calm. We recommend using a sanctuary or a gated area for the training during the first months, and introduce the crate in the third month of the program. That's why the crate training guidance is included only in the 3-month program. Just because for most dogs, starting from a sanctuary and moving to a crate gradually is less stressful than using a crate right away.

What if symptoms of separation anxiety are ignored?

Dogs have been known to break their teeth by trying to escape.

Dogs may develop eating disorders and lethargic behavior.

Dogs tear their nails and skin by trying to get out through the doors.

Dogs destroy doors and breakthrough windows to escape as their anxiety increases.

What if I’ll get stuck with the training or don’t know what to do next?

Contact us, and our pawsitive customer service will help you out in 24 hours, usually in less than 15 minutes. We’ve helped thousands of dog owners already. Even though every case is different, the problems are mostly the same. Don’t be shy and reach out for professional help. We really care and want you to succeed in training your clingy buddy to be your independent best-friend.

Why is the 3-month program better?

In general, a 3-month training program naturally shows better results than a 28-day one, as with any habit.

Also, the 3-month program includes an extension for the transition to crate during the 3rd month of the training.

In the 28-day program, we recommend using a sanctuary or any gated area instead of a crate because a crate itself may cause extra anxiety for a pup who is already anxious.

What if my dog is crate trained but has separation anxiety?

We recommend using a sanctuary or any gated area instead of a crate because a crate itself may cause additional anxiety for some dogs.

If you’re sure that a crate doesn’t add up to your dog’s anxiety of being alone, you may follow the program by using a crate instead of a sanctuary.

As all examples are with the sanctuary in mind, you may need to adjust the program a bit, but simply follow gradual steps of creating the distance between you and your dog. For example, starting with an open gate, and being nearby then gradually increasing the boundaries, as staying out of dog’s vision, then closing the gate. You will know when to change it up by following the daily steps written out in the program.

How will I access this digital training program?

Immediately after the checkout, you will receive an email confirmation with a button to access your purchased program. You’ll have lifetime access and the ability to download the training program anytime, on multiple devices (PC, laptop, tablet, and a phone), for numerous times. Though it’s strictly forbidden and against the law to share the purchased content in public or between people. If you know somebody who needs this program but couldn’t afford it, please let them contact us, and we will take care of your buddy.

In case you lose the files or couldn’t find the confirmation email, please contact our customer support help@thedogexplained.com or drop us a message on Facebook Messenger by clicking here (same reply time-rate as emails but no chance of “spam folder” side-effect).

Why do customers ask for a refund?

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee and occasionally receive refund requests. To save time for both you, and our customer support, we’ve written down who are not recommended to buy this program:

 - Experienced dog owners who have read every book & article on separation anxiety. Most likely, you won’t learn anything new from this program. Unless you still haven’t figured what specific (positive reinforcement) actions to take to solve your dog’s anxiety at-home.

 - Looking for a secret potion to solve separation anxiety in a day. We’re sorry to inform you, but it’s impossible. The training requires a lot of patience and consistency. Though it’s totally worth it, everyone who succeeded would agree!

 - Living in a very small apartment, and not willing to create a gated area as a sanctuary room for the training. It requires very little space (should fit a dog’s bed, a bowl, a few toys, and enough space for a dog to stretch) though not everyone has the ability.

We’ve created this self-training program because there are too many dogs suffering from separation anxiety and too few trainers in the US.

According to the most recent data we found, there are ~20,000 dog trainers in the US, and roughly ~10,000,000 dogs with symptoms of separation anxiety.

That’s at least five hundred dogs for each trainer. And every year, there are new puppies in need of help. That’s overwhelming.

We’ve gathered a team of professional trainers to create a program that would empower every dog owner, especially a first-timer, to build a healthy relationship with their best-friend, and solve separation anxiety. Hopefully, before it gets serious. Preventing is easier than fixing it.

Friendship is not a rocket science

You don’t need a science degree to fix a relationship with your best-friend. Simply remember that a relationship with your pup requires as much mutual trust as any other friendship you have.

And if a friend gets to tears one minute after you’ve left…

Houston, we’ve got a trust problem.

How to fix a trust issue? With actions, not words.

By following this day-by-day program, you will:

 - identify what exactly triggers your dog’s anxiety, and how to desensitize it.

- then, you will figure out when your dog’s anxiety kicks in, and how to increase the happy-time-alone by using a sanctuary method.

- the more times you will prove to your pup that you will come back before anxiety kicks in, the stronger bond you will create.

It’s the same as with any other relationship.

Trust is the key, buddy.
